Icky Thump

I have heard the entire album and have to say I haven't been this excited about the brilliance of a new album in some time. This is amazing, truly a diamond in the rough of the over-saturated music industry.

Every track is unique and each song is completely different, fresh and new. Somehow they manage to mix the gritty style of their early releases with brilliant album production. My particular favourite is 'Prickly Thorn, but Sweetly Worn'. This is a celtic folk style acoustic rock song and is just one example of the broad world of music the White Stripes embrace.

There are very few bands who have the talent (and opportunity) to do what they like and be given free rein over their work. The White Stripes (Jack White in particular) to me are the last of a dying breed - a real rock & roll super-band. If you love music, you will love this. If you love something different from the mainstream, you will love this. Infact, I can't understand why anybody wouldn't like this.
