I think White Stripes are the best rock band in modern time. Every new album is better then the last one. Icky Thump deserves 5 stars because you can listen to it from the start to the end over and over again and never feel boring. I can't wait to listen them live again. White Stripes are the best rock band in these last 6 years.
WORTH A LISTEN !!

Icky Thump is one of those albums which has all the right ingredients for an unforgetable compilation of songs, with Jack's vocals that make the White Stripes unmistakable and irresistible and Meg's improved drumming plus the catchy tunes that seem to come so naturally to The White Stripes. Even though Icky Thump falls just short of Elephant and Get Behind Me Satan quality, don't let that put you off as this is well worth a listen !!
A lot better!

I've bought this CD and have come to the conclusion about 3 songs in that this album is infinately better than 'Get Behind Me Satan'.
The 'Icky Thump' album sounds like Jack and Meg have gone back to their rock roots that were left in their previous album 'Elephant', and have picked up fantastic (and somewhat avant-garde) songwriting.
The songs are powerful and thumping, and others a quite mellow and relaxed, and a few (i.e. 'St. Andrews') aren't all that outstanding.
Aside from this though, 'Icky Thump' is a great album to listen to. I recommend it.
