How many albums do you have that you can get completely lost in?
Devil sold his soul have created an absolute masterpiece here ... and if you lie down and just take it in, it really will blow your mind.
The songs are crafted with such grace, the guitars ranging from devastating power to sublime beauty, never out of place. When you read the lyrics, pure poetry comes to mind.
All of the songs on this album compliment eachother, and as a result you don't just get a collection of songs, but one continuous work of art.

Fantastic

Consider the current music scene. Banal is a pretty apt word. Everything is the same, same guitars, same tones, same arrangements. Not with this album; it's possibly one of the most original albums I have ever heard. It's musicianship as it should be; no making yourself stand out by playing a 13 minute long solo. Everything is arranged to fit and aid the song. Make it more than it's sum of parts.
This album is pretty dark on the first few listens, however, if you atually listen more and read the lyrics you realise it's a meloncholic upbeat album. Quite oxymoronic in itself. A lot of hope running through this album, in an almost narrative way. Buy it. Just buy it. Then see them live. I can't actually do it justice.
Stand out tracks:
The Starting.
Siren's Chant.
Dawn of the First Day.
The Coroner.
Hope.
