Top 100 Music Reviewer

This is a brilliant follow up to the already huge "all we know is falling". i was slightly worried about this album because their first was so good i thought it might be a bit of an anticlimax and that they wouldnt be able to match the fantastic songs of their debut album, but they blew it out of the water!
This follow up is absolutely fantastic! Every song is catchy and punchy and Hayley's vocals are awesome! This cd will not leave you cd player for months to come! Misery Business, For a Pessimist Im Pretty Optimistic, Let The Flames Begin, and We Are Broken are some of the best tracks off this album but it really is hard to pick a couple cos the whole album is faultless! There isnt one bad or rubbish song! Definately worth buying!

If you are on this page, buy this album, this has to be one of the best albums i've ever heard, it is so great. track by track review below with scores out of 10 in brackets

Opening with "For A Pessimist", not my favourite track from the album but it's straight to the point, it kicks in with a proper power punk riff, a cool drum beat and groovy bass line, the chorus shows hayleys powerful vocals it their best. (7)

"That's What You Get" is a landmark track on the album, a cool intro from josh, and hayley and jeremy carrying the verse, the bass line is very simple but very catchy, the guitar is crunchier than usual and the drums are average zac farro, the let down of the track is definitely the bridge, it doesnt need to be there and doesnt suit the rest of the song. (8)

"Hallelujah" is a great song, the intro is really mellow, the vocals are amazing, all in all it is a very simple, very cool song. (9)

"Misery Business" is probably the second best track on the album, it is amazing, the lyrics are cruel and selfish but at the same time they make you feel good, josh's guitar line is amazing, probably the best on the album, his solo is simple but great, a really bouncy pop punk anthem. (10)

"When It Rains" is a tricky one, its paramores attempt at a ballad but it doesnt really work well, the keyboard carries the song throughout and doesnt really let the rest of the instruments shine, it is a good song but not the best on the album. (6)

"Let the Flames Begin" is not too bad, its another weak attempt at a great song, the lyrics are powerful but they are delivered badly, except the chorus which is really amazing. (7)

"Miracle" is a track that is extremely bouncy, the chorus is very catchy and one of the best tracks on the album, the guitar riff is brilliant and Hayley's voice really soars during the chorus. (9)

"Crushcrushcrush" is a playful song, really amazing lyrics and muted guitars, the story is really good and hayley shows she can be a tease in this song, my 3rd favourite track from the album. (10)

"We Are Broken" is another poor attempt at a ballad, the lyrics are good but delivered wrong, not much guitar to hook you in on this track and not too much drumming either. (6)

"Fences" is my favourite track from the album, it's a jazzy type track with not so much guitar in it but a cool drum beat and amazing lyrics, the chorus is brilliant, a pretty cool guitar solo from josh too. Considering Hayley wrote this during an exam is amazing. (10)

"Born For This" is another great song, a hard rock style intro, reminiscent of Guns N' Roses somehow, the chorus is great and the breakdown at the end is cool too, amazing closure to an amazing album. (10)

Thats my review, i hope you found it helpful, thanks

Paramore invited everyone to have great expectations after their pounding debut and some solid live performances securing fans for life in the UK and the States and BOY did they deliver?!

It sounds like the members of Paramore ran down the school corridor before bumping into Avril then running off to the hall to put on a show with the Veronicas when recording their sophomore effort and that can only be a great thing!! Sounding a lot more poppy in the melodies and a lot more rocky in the instruments, Riot gives fans everything they could have hoped for while securing new ones who are willing to give them a chance. While some have said Riot isn't much of a progression from All We Know Is Falling, I have to disagree. When It Rains and Hallelujah are definitely poking at Paramore's peers and offering a more mature sound while still sitting on the Poppy fence with songs like Miracle and crushcrushcrush. The only bad thing about this record is that we'll be waiting another year for the next one...

Best tracks: Misery Business, When It Rains, Miracle, Crushcrushcrush & Fences

Worst tracks: Hallelujah - though it does mix the sound up a little!

Every song on this album is very catchy and amazing.
they are all different but have the same feel to them.
even the slow songs have so much heart and the fast ones are amazing.
hayley has an amazing voice and the rest of the band do amazing beats and rhythms.

i think that brand new eyes is a great album but i think that this tops it. i think that hayley is propablys the best female vocalist off the last decade and her voice suits every song on this album perfectly.
