CD
- This fourteenth studio album from the veteran indie rockers is the follow-up to 2004's 'Around The Sun' and comes just six months after their 'Live' CD/DVD stopgap. The brusquest, most amped-up and aggressive album they have made in decades, the eleven songs on 'Accelerate' flash by in a scant 34 minutes and mark a return to the harder post-punk sounds of their pre-major label days, whilst not disregarding the infectious melodies that have made their name. Includes the single 'Supernatural Superserious'.
- Living Well's The Best Revenge
- Man Sized Wreath
- Supernatural Superserious
- Hollow Man
- Houston
- Accelerate
- Until The Day Is Done
- Mr Richards
- Sing For The Submarine
- Horse To Water

Accelerate sees REM return to writing really great, catchy, taut music, clocking just under 34 minutes, Accelerate is hands down for me one of REM's finest albums in years. Just about every song here is great to listen to, every track is accessible to the ears and this whole album is one you could play over and over.
My favourite tracks here include "Living well is the best revenge" Supernatural Superserious" "Until the day is done" "Mr Richards" but my favourite of the lot is "Man Sized Wreath" which is one of REM's catchiest songs in years and one of their best in a long time.
Overall Accelerate is REM at their very best, back making great music, after a few faltering steps on previous albums, this is what they should be about and the kind of music they should be making. If you haven't heard this yet, go and buy it now!!

I can say with some relief that ithis s a welcome return back to form for REM. Just when you thought they had lost the plot on the last album they re-discover the magic that made them one of the top bands of the 80's and 90's!!! The songs are tight and catchy and they actually sound like a band that are enjoying themselves .....it's just a pity that it's all over in just over half an hour. But as they say ..... "less is more!!!"
Brilliant
