I really like Kate Nash, or rather I really like her early demos which were floating around the web before she exploded into everyones view and shot up the charts.
But then something happened in the music studio. All her best songs were destroyed by excessive production. She sounds best when at a piano with minimal backing. Her songs don't ask for, or deserve to have a marching band wandering around in the background bust sadly that's what they have on this album.
Little Red, the bonus track has escaped the efforts of overly keen mangement to 'jazz' things up a bit and so stands out as being the most pure. Although I will say, I think Mariella is better on the album than the demo version, but that's probably the one.
Kate Nash is a true rising tallent, but one who just needs to take back a bit of creative control.
