I had to also wait for this album due to being broke an was not let down 1 bit.
It took a few listens as most classics do but when i got familiar with the tunes i loved it as much as the first.
It brakes my heart see some reviews give it 1 an 2 stars an idiots saying 'all songs sound the same!', every tune is totally differant an if anything the first album has songs that sound more like each other. 1 Bloke who gives it 1 star says his fave tune is mistress mable, lol, yeah good one mate. All tunes are quality, personnal fave is acidjazzsinger.
I'd advise u purchase this album , its the best music to listen to when gettin rowdey on the booze an can here it over and over again, please be aware though 'jesus stole my baby' takes gettin used to the most but the more u here it the more u like it.
Ignore suckey reviews an buy it.
Peace

This is an excellent album!!!!!!! I loved their debut, but this is so much better. The sound is roughly the same as before, it jus makes it better sumhow. Much better written n im so glad they won the birt for best british breakthrough act a couple of years cos they really deserved it. Band to stay around for a long time!!!!!
Fantastic

Everyone knows it's hard to top a great debut album. Costello Music was an absolute blinder, and amazingly Here We Stand manages to keep pace with it. I've had it a while and have listened and re-listened. The only track I can't quite get around to like is Stragglers Moon, but apart from that this album is faultless. The Fratellis have proven themselves to be more than one-hit wonders. They're a proper band, and an excellent one at that.
Disappointing? I think not!

I waited a month to get this basically due to me being skint at the time, but it was definitely worth the wait. It was never going to be a Costello Music and those who expected it to be have clearly never bought a first and second album before - as the second album is almost certainly never as good as the first from any band.
Great mix of distinctive tunes and you can tell instantly that the guys had great fun recording it.
Very good follow up!
rocking 2nd album

Having read the mixed reviews before I bought the album I've deliberately given it a week since "Here We Stand" arrived in my letterbox before writing this. After that week of listening all I can say is that this album is fabulous - absolutely knockout.
OK, it;'s not Costello Music - but then were we really expecting it to be? Given time I think that this will be considered to be as good, if not better, than their first album.

They've done it again

this album is great! Fair enough it is different from Costello music but it is excellent. At first I thought oh dear what has happened! but now I cannot stop listening to it. Welcome back Fratellis!
A decent follow-up album

You know what you are going to get with the Fratellis: decent pop tunes, a knack for melody, and Glaswegian dishevellment.
In this sense they don't disappoint. It was always going to be hard to match Costello Music and bluntly, they don't. This doesn't spell disaster however.
There are some great tracks here, such as 'Shameless' 'Mistress Mabel' and 'Lupe Brown', the latter indebted to the classic 'Hey Mister Postman'. The overwhelming sense is of a band that has got plenty left in the tank, but forgot to really floor the pedal this time round.
It should be interesting again when they do........
Very disappointing
