alright, so, i've never seen them live (it's supposed to be raaaw!). and my experience is of them in the 10 track format (21mins) that has been available for the last two years. But this was produced by steve albini for christ sake, in two days!!!! and whadda you got? well the energy is as infectuous as one of their live gigs portends to be.
punk energy and the occasional lyric that sticks like a thorn in your heart. genuinly exciting rather than a bunch of old fellas rehashing their older- better material, looking desperatly for some new ground, such as the queens of the stone age's latest effort. short sharp shock, their debut with all the new three tracks (especially 155- it's all about the company that you keep indeed.) make one of the most exciting debuts since... well god knows when. like nirvana, but not smacked up and with a frenzied antipodean stomp to their plomp.
who knows it might change the world? who cares, it rocks and lets leave world change to Arcade Fire. (my other favourite band of the moment.)
Go see them, buy the album, and get frikkin crazy!!!
