I think this album is absoloutly brilliant. The songs are fantastic. Pendulum have introduced much more singing into the album but it still is really good. I reccomend it to anybody who likes drum & bass! But these songs are terrible if you listen to them quietly. You got to listen to them LOUD!
The Other side

What a great album. The other side being the best track. But all tracks are good and growers. Very good.
Certainly Different...

This is a difficult album to compare to anything else that is out, including Hold Your Colour, because it is unusual and unique sounding. I've been a huge fan since hearing the Voodoo People remix and going on to discover HYC and it's somewhere in between Dance and D'n'B sound which I adore.
In Silico is a step away from that template and a step towards a more Rock/Metal sound, however the D'n'B is still very much there in certain songs, and these are the songs I find myself leaning towards. Particular highlights are "Midnight Runner", "9,000 miles" and the final 2 minutes of "The Tempest" are truly epic.
Earlier pendulum fans who prefer the early of work like "Vault" and "Masochist" to anything else Pendulum have done, I can safely say that In Silico is not the album for you.
So if you did like HYC then this album is a must buy. If you like band likes Linkin Park and Enter Shikari, then this might be the right place to start listening to Pendulum and see what you think. You might prefer tracks like "Propane Nightmares" and "Mutiny"
All in all this is a very good album that plays through well, although it isn't quite Hold Your Colour.
But hey, that's just my opinion, i'm sure people will think differently
definatly beats hold your colour!!

i first bought hold your colour when in silico was released. i'd listened to some of the songs from in silico, and i just didn't like them. i gave it a month or so, and finally bought in silico to complete my collection of pendulum albums. i was amazed. this is the type of cd that you can listen to over and over again. i've never listened to one album so many times in my life. yeh its a bit different to hold your colour, but its just amazing. this is an album that i think everyone should buy. i love pretty much all the songs, but my favourites are showdown, midnight runner and visions. trust me on this, buy this album
Not the good old stuff

When they did their colaborations with TC, sub focus and fresh they were the Dogs B. now they've ruined their classic style with this genre of "experimental music" its just not any good, it appeals more to rockers and metal heads than the DnB/Jungle Fans they have made over the years, if you want some good pendulum go get there older and much better ones "Hold Your Colour" with Fasten your seatbelts, Tarantula and blood sugar the list could go on all day! To sum it up this Cd is Gash! all there others are 10/10 Top Notch stuff
Best Album I've bought in 2008 !

Let's face it, 'In Silico' had a LOT to live up to. So much in fact, it was almost impossible for Pendulum to better their first album, 'Hold Your Colour'.
While In Silico does contain some great tunes, 'Granite', 'Showdown', 'Midnight Runner', and '9000 Miles', the album lacks that classic feel of the first album. The singer was a nice touch on one or two songs, but after a while it sounds crap and like a pop group, (The intro to 'Propane Nightmares just sounds cheesy). The new 'rocky' style again works well on a couple of tunes, but not so well on others. (Mutiny is possibly the worst Pendulum tune that's ever been made!! Just awful!)
This album is by no means a bad album, it's just not even close to the musical master piece of their first album. (I will however advise listening to the ending of 'Midnight Runner' as it's one of the greatest endings to a drum 'n' bass tune ever!)
10 out of 10

This album is just fantastic. I have heard many people don't like it because it's so different from their first album. I agree that it is different.......because it is so much better!
Hold your colour was good but this is leagues ahead of it. There are a few slightly weaker songs but I could listen to "different" (my favourite), "showdown" and "propane nightmares" forever and not get bored of them.
Basically this is my favourite album of the year by far and only something very special will stop it being so at the end of the year.
LUV SILICO
