 MUSE MAKE MORE MAGIC

Top 100 Music Reviewer

You may wonder if Muse can keep their brilliance going, the answer being yes, this one's different but quite something.
Why are some fans so against evolution? So long as a band still has that something that stands them apart but they do other things with their sound, whats's the problem? That's what Muse have done here, another direction, but still them and still brilliant.
This album kicks off nicely with SUPREMACY,typical Muse but with a little hint of change.
MADNESS has a certain menace to it,i definitely like the sound of this.
PANIC STATION is still Muse but a Muse clearly evolving, nice riff, great vocals.
PRELUDE is a short, haunting piece of music leading us nicely into SURVIVAL,their new direction well and truely making itself heard. I like it,good pace to it,will sound great live. The backing vocals are unusual, but i'd say it works.
FOLLOW ME strats slowly, builds to a great chorus, nice feel to it.
ANIMALS is a slower track,nice sound,interesting lyrics.
EXPLORERS has a nice sound, good message, keeps the slower pace going,it's got a relaxing feel to it.
BIG FREEZE and things start getting livlier again, more great vocals and great sounds.
SAVE ME is mostly slower with a different sounding Muse, but interesting enough to enjoy.
LIQUID STATE has a great thumping riff,a rockier track, nicely paced, interesting style.
2ND LAW: UNSUSTAINABLE,is haunting, futuristic, spacey weird sounds, great track with top vocals.
2ND LAW: ISOLATED SYSTEM,haunting, unusual, great closer to an evolving album.
So my take on this is it's a new direction i'm happy to go along with,it's different enough to their other stuff to make it worthwhile and still Muse doing what they do. 53 minutes of magic, love it.

I did go for the deluxe version, where you get the dvd showing the making of,not important to have but interesting if the behind the scenes process is your kind of things,it lasts for about 40 minutes,i quite enjoyed it.
