Music of the Spheres is a moderen classic, ok it may be almost Tubular Bells 4 but it is with doubt one of Mike Os best pieces. Only Songs of Distant Earth can come close.
This CD IS a must buy for your collection.

Unbelievably the sound of the universe is almost exactly like......Tubular Bells. Azaming! It's like buying a pint of Old Peculier to find that it tastes of 4X. No soul, no passion, no great musical vistas, no great challenge. The end of the rainbow, as the great Richard Thompson once intoned. Truely, I wanted to say such great things about this album, but I can't. Go away and stick Ommadawn on you stereo and turn it up to 11.
A masterpiece

Well yes, I really enjoyed this album, being a hard fast Mike Oldfield fan. But, it is a re-make of Tubular Bells. I think he is not happy with the original version and has to keep re-inventing it. I would recommend it as it is still a very good piece of music, but I would have preferred something different
His best work for a long time

Highly anticipated - and worth it!
Finally, Mike Oldfield has produced another outstanding album. The orchestration and musicality of this album outshine anything he has done recently.
One word - Beautiful.
Great Album!

I got my album few days ago and I liked it very much. It's nice to see that Mike can compose good classical music. "On my heart" song is my favourite. Also other tracks like Musica Universalis is great! I think I will listen this album again and again and it's never boring experience.
Tubular or not

Once i played this, there are definate elements from his other work, including Tubular Bells. I believe these elements are minor, as there are plenty of original work in the album. Overall i enjoyed it.
Possibly the best Mike Oldfield album to date...

I just cannot get enough of this album. This is possibly the best album Mike has ever released. Ok so he doesn't play instruments on this one as much as other albums, but it is all his compositions. The arranger, orchestra, guest pianist, and vocalist all make this a remarkable listening experience.
Mike's classical guitar runs over every track, and it is crystal clear. The transitions between some of the tracks make the hairs on your neck stand up.
Right then it's been 5 minutes since I last heard this amazing work, I'm off now to get another fix!!
