Considering Metallica havent released anything decent for a good 10 years, and that thrash metal has been declined in the media for a while, Evile have quite literally created arguably one of the best thrash metal albums in years. Enter the Grave start to finish is an epic CD with everything you expect from a thrash record plus a whole lot more. This CD alone gives one confidence that thrash is DEFINATELY NOT DEAD and that very soon Evile are going to be taking you by storm, Enter the Grave is outstanding, it's an awsome display of high energy, aggressive thrash that is bound to be a classic, Earache have done a good job signing this band and they are destined to go far. This is a must have. BUY IT NOW!
not bad, seen them in manchester and london over the weekend supportng megadeth,it all has been done before ,i think they just took a few slayer tracks and changed the lyrics.more of a slayer cover band then anything
So if you missed thrash the first time around it's cool to have a band like this around today, someone of your time you can go and see, mosh and stage dive to.
That doesn't stop this being a completely derivative, unoriginal, thrash by numbers experience. Simply put this lot wouldn't have even got a record deal back in the heyday of thrash, don't get me wrong there is some impressive musicianship on display here and a ballsy production gives it some punch.
Ultimately though it just sounds like a really poor thrash tribute band with a dodgy vocalist and a bunch of riffs you've heard so many times before played by so many bands before so many years before.
E is for effort and the only effort that seems to have been put into making this record was listening to allot of old thrash albums, cataloguing the riffs and putting them back together in a different order with some half baked dumb lyrics.
Evile? Drop the first "E" and you've got it just about right.
Absolutely awesome debut album from an awesome new band. Evile are a proper throwback to the glory days of thrash and enter the grave is an unrelenting aggresive album from start to finish. From the Razor sharp riffing in 'thrasher' to the wailing face melting solos in 'we who are about to die' Evile maintain excellent musicianship and awesome (if not slightly cheesy) lyrics throughout. Very Slayer-esque sound but to metalheads this shouldnt be a problem, highly recommended album. Evile rock \M/ \M/
Unlike what i thought when i got this cd - oh look another slayer copycat. Heard the album and contrary to believe, i was wrong. Sure, you can feel slayer in them somewhere deep down, but in reality, its their old school feel that's just present. Also, for trashmetal fans, the first run through of the album, you'll listen to each track one after the other, smoothly, and grab the feel of the album immediately.
For those who are out of the trashmetal scene, and in it, you'll see that evile manage to revamp trashmetal with a touch of new-core riffs and beats which adept to the 2000+ music, with the good old 80s metal touch.
Excellent, i'm very pleased! Buy it! And get ready for their next album.
