Should be called Gatecrasher - Immoral !!!

Gatecrasher continue to churn out 'Best of Trance' style compilations trying to get people to buy the same old tracks and suggesting that Trance has had its day! Completely wrong - Gatecrasher are no better than Ministry of Sound (or Ministry of Cheese as they are also known).

These are not the best Trance tracks by far - These are some of the most commercial, but not the best. Don't waste your money on another one of these type of compilations. Try Mondo Sessions 001 or Ajunabeats Worldwide if you want a taste of what this sort of genre still has to offer - and there is alot to offer still.

All this CD does is give Trance a bad name! Gatecrasher should be ashamed to release this - clearly going down the 'how can we make the most money?' route instead of 'How can we release quality Trance?'

And the fact that three big name DJs have endorsed this and yet another example of using names to sell the same thing over and over again. Absolutely embarrassing.

It's good, but could be better...

With the destruction of the Gatecrasher nightclub still fresh in people's memories, this release is to show fans of the legendary nightclub that the spirit of the Gatecrasher is still alive and kicking.

Gatecrasher Immortal consists of 3 CDs, with the first 2 CDs spanning the music history of the nightclub. Disc 1, which is mixed by Scott Bond, bangs out the commercial trance hits that we all know and love. Disc 2, mixed by Matt Hardwick, plays the more popular non-commercial underground Gatecrasher trance, where die-hard Gatecrasher fans will know, whereas the occasional listener might not. Disc 3, mixed by Judge Jules, plays the new future hits of trance/house music, in his usual style of break beats and drop-outs.

Whilst the first 2 CDs are a great trip down memory lane, they do reflect the style and euphoria of Gatecrasher nightclub, disc 3 was the biggest let down for me. Expecting more uplifting trance music, The Judge has chosen tracks with a slightly darker, harder and moodier tone.

In conclusion though, this album is similar in style to their previous release 'Gatecrasher Forever', but don't let this put you off. This release is a faithful tire over until the nightclub gets rebuilt. Let's hope after that, Gatecrasher will stop releasing albums that 'milk' the classic era and start releasing albums of the same quality and calibre as the Anjunabeats Volume series.

What more classics! Why no new material?

Having been a Crasher clubber since 1997. I know what innovative music is, and yes these tunes were all mint in there day. But they have since been repeated on previous GC cds over and over. Gatecrasher Black/Red were just stunning and fresh.
So why are we into our 4-5th classic cd's?
Gatecrasher is music innovative, Since Bond & Co have left they are just cashing in on Classics!
Don't get me wrong the cd is worth buying as Scott Bonds set is pure amazing (just how i remember him) 9/10
Matt Hardwick's is a little low key
,until the last 5 tunes. 6/10
Judge Jules should have stayed at home, Dreadfull. 3/10

Please Please GC give us new material!!!!!!!!!!

 Awesome

This compilation is possibly my favourite trance compilation behind the Global Gathering albums. despite the older nature of some of the tracks, none show their age and i thinkall three cds are class. despite earlier reviews i think Jules' mix and selection of tracks is the best for the harder trance/tech fan- Lemontree and Bulldozer in particular
