I was sceptical initially when I heard about this album but curiosity got the better of me and I gave it a listen and was very pleasantly surprised! It reminds me of the stuff Brian Wilson did for American Spring - very heavily Spector influenced sound with untrained girly vocals. A delight!
Loved it - surprised me!

Very sceptical about this, she certainly looks great and from what I've seen is a good actress, but nothing special yet.
I was very interested in this album because most of the songs are covers of Tom Wait's various songs, and I'm a fan of him so I thought well Scarlett you have a lot to prove.
I actually loved it, a pleasant, just beautiful album full of high quality folk music, penned by Waits. Scarlett also has a nice voice, it didn't blow me away personally, but she can sing.
I was delighted when I heard David Bowie appear on 'Fannin Street' and 'Falling Down', he certainly boosts the album, another brilliant artist.
As much as I liked the album and was impressed by Scarlett, I think whether you like it much depends on your taste. Thought provoking and deep lyrics might be too much for some, nevertheless I highly recommend it, there is little to disappoint here in my opinion.
Please next time Scarlett, after the success of this one, write your own album :-)!
