I am a huge Blink fan and therefore after the split have become a fan of both Angels and Airwaves and +44. I loved we don't need to whisper so ordered I Empire as soon as i saw it available for pre order. I can honestly say there is not a bad song on this album. A lot of people keep going on about how AVA are not Blink 182 and the simple reason for that is they are not Blink 182! Tom is not 21 anymore and probably doesn't want to be jumping around a stage acting the goat. I do however agree with the other reviews about Tom's strange comments about changing the world etc. I have no idea what he is on about but it's not the first time that a performer has come out with something a bit strange so i say let him crack on. As long as he continues to bring out album's like this i'll continue to buy them regardless of what stupid comments he comes out with. If you like the previous album or are a blink / +44 / Box car Racer fan, then get this ordered. It's quality.

I EMPIRE kicks off with the epic Call to Arms, and finishes with the equally as impressive Heaven. With each and every song you will find yourself tapping the table along to "Atom" and his spectacular drumming and eventually humming to "Tom's" amazingly improved vocals...I EMPIRE is the latest and the best from the ex-blink 182 band member.

Call To Arms - Fantastic upbeat, dramatic and epic.

Love Like Rockets -You will find yourself completely lost into this song, the open lyric "I held my head as it left the ground" Is an eye opener and the song ultimately feels like one of the best songs from the album.

True Love & Lifeline - Some of the most incredible vocal pieces and catchy melodies make way for these two highlights of the album

All in all, I EMPIRE is nothing short of a masterpiece it's very epic and is a brilliant addition to any CD collection.

 What a shame :(

I really respect Tom Delonge i think he is an incredible lyricist but I-Empire is a real frustration. Like Angels first album WDNTW it has 1 or 2 good songs but is ultimately a forgettable album which has fell down the way side. What a shame :(

 OK - a bit boring

The new album starts off well particularly in the early stages, with engaging and energetic tracks to lead you deeper into the world of Angels and Airwaves. Some of the musical arrangements and tunes are quite stunning, no doubt a talented band in that department. Unfortunately the lead singer's vocals are far from unique, and tap similarities with other American groups along the lines of Fall Out Boy and maybe Green Day. This is disappointing as the album is fairly strong, I also liked how some tracks were purely musical interludes, along with some references to space and the clear Star Wars parody front cover, I initially striked comparisons with Muse and their space influenced offering Black Holes and Revelations. Unfortunately however Muse's offering is far more impressive, and some tracks on I Empire simply drag on and even sound dangerously similar.
Overall though it is a refreshing change that will no doubt delight some, it just failed to really deliver. The live from Del Mar bonus track It Hurts is a highlight.

 What an album

This album is quite simply a masterpiece. Each track is superb, I can't think of a bad track. I think that Tom Delonge has written some of the most thought-provoking and deeply personal lyrics he ever has, and it shows. His maturity since the early days of blink 182 has really grown, this was clear in the Box Car Racer album, but this album is one of the best I've heard in a long time. Although Tom was around saying that "this band will change your life", he may sound up himself, but as long as he keeps writing lyrics to this standard, he can claim to be the pope for all I care. Anyone wanting a lesson in how to write lyrics, this is a masterclass. My album of 2007
