Following Neil Young's career calls for some real stamina. The man with the most wayward muse in popular music returns with a peculiar mix of the old and the new. The highlight of this episode is without doubt the epic 'Ordinary People' a late eighties 'live' favourite. Its rumoured that the wayward Mr Young wants to release this 18 minute epic as a single, should be a boon to some of the incontinent DJ's employed on national radio. Young appears to have mellowed as he approaches his seventh decade on the planet. There's a lovely childrens choir roped in to help out on 'The Way' but in Youngs hands it works and delightfully so. The lengthy 'No Hidden Path' snakes around a typical Young spikey riff to good effect. All in all, a welcome return to form for the curmudegendly old reprobate. Roped in to help out are the usual Neil's croneys, Ben Keith, Ralph Molina and Rick Rosas on bass. For the completists don't waste time looking for volume 1 its another of Young's jokes, he pulled its release in the early seventies. Avoid the DVD unless you're into still shots of cars rusting!!! ***** without the DVD **** with the DVD
