Finally... a brilliant guitarist with a brilliant voice. Each track is beautifully arranged with great vocals and guitar riffs that are truly mesmerising.
The amazing thing is that John Mayer has been able to take simple uncomplicated melodies and turn them into addictive sounds.
I can fill a whole page on why this album is so great, but to put it simply...if you haven't got this album then you are missing out!!
Simply Brilliant

bought this CD back in July 07 after seeing John perform on Live Earth, also had the privilege of seeing him at both his RAH gigs in September 07. The music on this CD is amazing; I endorse all other positive comments made. The guy is just stupendous - lyrics are so true, guitar playing awesome, voice full of emotion! Check out The Village Sessions and Try. I can't wait for his new stuff. Can't understand why he's not more well known here in the UK, everyone to whom I mention his name says 'who?'. Still, the less popular he is here, the easier it'll be to get tickets for his UK gigs in the future! Have already viewed the concert at Webster Hall on MSN it is truly awesome, I am buying the CD again just to get the DVD. This performer is truly amazing. Check him out.
Fantastic

This guy definately doesn't get the recognition he deserves over here. Talented just isn't a big enough word.
The entire album encapsulates a sound that is Mayer's own, the breathy vocals, well constructed songs and sharp melodies make this album an absolute audio pleasure from beginning to end. Oh, and the production (Jordan & Mayer himself) is fantastic too.
I love this album.
'Nuff Said.

i brought the album on the day it was first released (without the dvd) as i imagine other fans would have. now i see it's being released with a bonus dvd, which seems to happen all the time now. it's so annoying.
Fantastic music, underrated guitar wizard!

I would recommend this CD to anyone who appreciates the guitar work of Clapton, Frusciante et al. Despite this, he also has a fantastic voice.
Although the music may at first appear to be a bit slow, it quickly gathers pace, and covers many genres, although it is mainly rock and jazz based.
I saw him at the Royal Albert Hall recently, he was fantastic, it's unbelievable that he is not popular in England, he puts some of our artists to shame with his guitar playing. What bands like the Kaiser Chiefs would give for someone with his talent!
