I finally got my hands on the vinyl release of this great album. Although it still sounds as good as it did back in '82, I am a bit disappointed with the 'New Mixes' contained on LP2. To begin with, I expected to have the original label artwork (on LP1) as it was back then, and secondly I am not at all happy with the so-called new mixes. To make this a collector's item I would have included ALL the 12" versions of the singles released inculding their 'B-Sides' most of which were instrumental versions, the edited 7" version and the (clean) full length video version of "Thriller". In my opinion as an avid collector, to-day's remixes do not compliment yesterday's classics and I strongly feel that a good cut usualy loses its magical musical delivery.

To begin with I never liked Micheal Jackson, but now I have listened to it, I can say that it is the best album that I have ever listened to.
I am totally addicted to the songs and I am listening to them multiple times every day I just can't get enough of it.

The CD will come in 4 versions -

Classic CD Edition:
This will be an audio CD featuring the tracklist as per the Press Release. It will have a cardboard slip on case with the traditional 'Thriller' picture. The only twist will be that it is a holographic cover.

Zombie CD Edition:
The content is identical to the Classic Edition, but has the famous picture of Michael with the zombies around him as the slip on case display. This will also be a holographic cover.

Deluxe Limited Edition:
This comes as a hardbound book, containing the same CD and DVD as above. However it will also come with a booklet containing more photos and extra content. This will be limited to only 20,000 copies.

12" Vinyl:
The album will be released as a gatefold double LP. A must have for all collectors!

The previous remaster with bonus tracks was a real treat ! I wonder what makes this release worth buying the album again... If the DVD only has the 3 videos that have been released a zillion times before than I'm passing on on this release. BUT... if the DVD has the album in 5.1 audio with the 3 bonus videos than this will be a MUST-HAVE. Let's see what it'll be...

Just got some info from my local record store, and apparently this item has been postponed for release at a non-specified date in 2008. Rumours will have it that this is due to an all new Michael Jackson album that is said to be released before this anniversary edition of Thriller.

Time will tell.
