Some people obviosly dont know anything about hiphop (djabd89). This album is the best album of 2007, there are a number of true classics here. Jay Z back to his best!!! Buy this album you will not be dissapointed!
lyrically on par with reasonable doubt

much better than kingdom come.up there with the mighty reasonable doubt and blueprint.the roc boys song is not one of my favs but american dreaming and falling are two of the best songs on an album that i would personally call one of the best hip hop albums of 2007
Back at his best.

In my opinion jay-z is back on form. No disrespect to kingdom come, But i love the upbeat jay-z. Keep it up sir.

I enjoyed this album but I didnt love it. The song Roc boys is great and Hello Brooklyn with Lil wayne also great but the rest of the album plods along and does not seem to do anything he hasn't done before better. The blueprint one was hungry and raw hip hop whereas in american gangster Jay raps like he is no longer concerned with what he is saying rather he is concerned with his image. But it is still good enough to take him to number one in america.
Best work for a while, better than blueprint i would say!
