I'm not a fan of Motley Crue, but this CD has quickly become one of my favourite LPs of the year. A concept abum focusing on Nikki Sixx life, a Tim Burton movie-like mood and great hard rock songs make this disc a great compilation of masterpieces.
Great, and one of my favourites altogether with The Crimson Idol by WASP and Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche.
Wow

I have read Nikki Sixx's book and that blew me away. To hear the soundtrack, if anything, ADDED feeling. James Michael, the singer, is purely amazing. I love his voice style - deep but still able to hit the high notes. DJ Ashba together with Sixx and Michael is a recipe to die for; their writing styles are brilliant.
If I had to describe this album in one word it would be POWERFUL. Even in X-Mas In Hell! The song Van Nuys is an emotional start to the album with the more upbeat and feel good Life Is Beautiful following. To say they are a different style to Mötley Crüe you find yourself singing along in this beautifully composed collection of heart-rendering melodies. A delicate twinkle on a piano and a talented choir backing the opening and ending of this masterpiece, which brings it further alive. Pray For Me is the catchiest by far, it is more likened to Mötley Crüe I believe.
I have to warn you there is a possibility of waring the CD out because it is that good. You can't get enough of this rock album. It's softer in the middle than Mötley but still heavy and hard on the edges.
Excellant

I don't usually bother to write reviews but this album is so good I had to.
The first time I listened to this album I loved it. The intro, intermission and end are all spoken extracts from the book that Nikki himself delivers. The songs in between are brilliant pieces of true loud rock music, which make you want to listen to them again and again.
Amazing

First time I listened to this I loved it, every song on there holds so much feeling. A must have for all rock, metal and Motley Crue lovers. Will definately buy the book now.
This is an amazing album by Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, and his new band Sixx AM.
I bought the book,so i was very keen to hear this "soundtrack" album, and right from the very first listen i was blown away by how much i liked it. It is very rare for any new album to do this to me....most take a few listens to grow on me,but this one started out great and just got even better.
It starts off with Nikki introducing what the album is about, together with music that makes you think of the crazy, out of his mind period that he went through.
The album continues with very melodic and well written songs,James Michael's voice is very good...and if you listen to the lyrics, they are all relevant to the subject matter.
I cannot recommend this album highly enough, and for me,it is the album of the year.
