We all know Lee Mead can hold a tune, and on this first album his voice captures the imagination and hearts of any listener casual or devotee. There are some brilliant tracks, including the cover of Lifehouse's You and Me, Why Can't We Make Things Work and Paint it Black which Lee turned into his own on the show that made him. A cover of the Sugababe's Stronger is a definite grower! However there are some duffers - Gary Barlow really can do better than When I Need you the Most, The Best is Yet to Come is twee and How Can I be Sure is the musical theatre number the album didn't need. Overall a great pop album delivered with charisma and enthusiasm.

Call me totally superficial, but 5 stars and worth buying alone for the track - "Why Can't we make things work?" - written by a pop writing musical genius called Gregg Alexander who has also written gems for himself/his band - New Radicals (You Get What You Give),Ronan Keating (Life is a Rollercoaster/Lovin' Each Day/Love Won't work), Sophie Ellis Bextor (Murder on the Dancefloor/Music gets the Best of me), Texas (Inner Smile), Michelle Branch/Santana (Game of Love), Melanie C (On the Horizon), Carly 'American Idol' Hennessy/Smithson (I'm Gonna Blow Your Mind)....this man is a music writing genius...I LOVE GREGG ALEXANDER...:)

This is very definately the best CD that I've brought. When is the next Lee Mead CD coming out??
