I have all DT's albums and live DVDs but I had to buy this one too. I'd have probably chosen different songs, especially for the first CD, but this is still a great compilation.
If you've never listened to DT but you feel like trying, this is the one for you. Just know there is much more to Dream Theater than what is included in this double compilation, and some great, GREAT songs have been left out, but it is a good start.
Even if you're not into progressive rock/metal you might think of giving this one a try, also considering the convenient pricetag. You will definitely enjoy the wonderful ballads in the 2nd CD and chances are you will love the first one as well.
Both thumbs up for the extraordinary musical career of one of the greatest bands around.

I have all their studio albums anyway, but I had to buy it. It's a very good collection, even though not what I'd have picked! If you like heavy, distortion driven music, you'll love disc 1. If ballads are your thing, you'll love disc 2. If you like progressive music that makes you think, you'll love both discs. I love the remade version of Pull Me Under, it sounds slightly less cheesy than before. I am suprised by the lack of anything from Systematic Chaos, Dark Eternal Night would have been right at home.
At £8.95, this is the perfect way to get to know all aspects of Dream Theater.
ps, Jonah68 the title of Greatest Hit, is because Pull Me Under was the only single to chart.

For Dream Theater fans this a must have album. For non fans, now is the chance to catch some, if not the greatest musicians on the planet.
Styles to suit all taste's, if you like your ballads then this group has it, as well as a rockier side. You will not be wasting your money, get buying now and listen to class.
A note to the 'NERD' reviewer, why bother expressing such dumb views, if you do not like it keep quiet!
awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This album is a perfect introduction to anyone who has been tempted by their back catalogue in the past. It also proves that DT are better songwriters than they are often given credit for.
Not keen on the title of the album though, but that is a minor quibble when the music provides a perfect snap shot of one of the most influential hard rock bands to emerge in recent years.
If you are a fan of epic, progressive hard rock and classy rock ballads performed by superb musicians then buy this.
Astounding

Ignore the first review of this, described as 'boring and nerdy' - I don't think that person quite appreciates proper music. Dream Theater is a band that contains quite possibly the greatest musicians that this planet will ever see. Their talent and abilities are endless, and they write the most satisfying music that you will porbably ever hear.
This is a great way to get into the band before buying any of their other albums.

No point in me buying this, I have every track and more. This is a great way to get into DTs music, if you like long prog rock with instramentals and great vocals, combined with more mellow slow ballads, this band is for you. every one a winner ...buy and enjoy...you will then buy the whole back catalogue
