'Pvdhoo' can't have listened to much music if he/she thinks Back To Black has poor sound - a lot of the sounds on the first CD are purposely retro, harking back to classic Motown and Ska, for example the drum sound on Just Friends. It's all a matter of taste and opinion of course, but my opinion is that this album (not the extra stuff, just the original CD) is pretty much faultless - a mix of strong melodies and rhythms, some amazing lyrics (think about what she's saying about life and love), and emotive vocals. So far, the best thing she's done.

But I agree with PvdH00 below. The first CD does not have anything like as good sound quality as the second disc. Superficially, it's O.K., but lacks the deep bass on the 2nd CD; this is very apparent if you are listening on a good hi-fi. Early copies of the original, single, CD, sounded a lot better. What is going on?
