- 'St. Jude' is the debut album from Mancunian indie four-piece The Courteeners. After signing to Polydor Records in 2007 the band went on to support the likes of The Coral and hooked up with producer Stephen Street (Blur, Babyshambles) to create a record bursting with guitar noise and rasping, energetic vocals. Singles include 'What Took You So Long' and 'Not Nineteen Forever'.

To describe the courteeners, I would say they are a combination of arctic monkeys and oasis. This album is packed full of great songs. The best being their first single What Took You So Long? But Bide Your Time is also one of my favs. This could be one of the forerunners for album of 2008.

This album is the best album of the year so far, and of the last two years apart from The Enemy's "We'll Live and Die in These Towns". I love Oasis and I know people are comparing them to these guys but Liam Fray's writiing style is completely different to Noel Gallagher's. The best songs are "What took you so long" and "Not Nineteen Forever". Buy, and enjoy the fresh sound of new British Indie.
