  • 'Everything's The Rush' is the third album from Southampton-based indie rockers Delays. A sprightly set of jangle-pop that recalls such musical luminaries as The Cocteau Twins and Teenage Fanclub, this album is a fine follow-up to 2006's 'You See Colours'. Includes the single 'Hooray'.

 Summer on CD

Have their last 2 albums which are also great summer sounds! 3rd album has not disappointed- awesome! Really looking forward to seeing them live soon and possibly getting the airplay they deserve!

their weakest album, but still pretty good.

Top 100 Music Reviewer

although for me, this is their weakest album so far (which says more about the first two), Everything's The Rush is still a worthy effort from the Southampton quartet.

the songs on this album are VERY catchy, and the bandhave clearly not lost their knack for a melody and pop-hooks. the mood of the album is definately summer. opening track 'Girls On Fire' is a 'Pounding' (by Doves) meets the bands' very own 'Hey Girl'-esque stomper. lead-off single 'Hooray' and the EP track 'Love Made Visible' are decent enough, but lacking that extra punch needed to make them truly memorable tracks. 'Pieces' is an epic string-laden masterpiece - an arena-sized anthem deserving of an arena crowd to be played to. Similarly other tracks vary in quality. 'Keep It Simple', 'Friends Are False' and the UK-only exclusive track 'The Earth Gave Me You' are excellent additions to the Delays cannon, but others such as 'Touch Down' and 'One More Lie In' do not stand out in any particular way. they just passed me by. very average songs.

Q Magazine said 'a little less light, and a little more shade though, would make them a far more fascinating proposition' is probably the most accurate verdict ive heard/read on the album. The band seem to have neglected several of their strengths on this album. namely that certain edginess (as previously heard on 'Stay Where You' Are from 'Faded Seaside Glamour', that punch of energy (as on 'This Town's Religion' and 'Given Time' on 'You See Colours') or that exposed tenderness on numerous acoustic-based songs littered over both said albums. it is only really on 'Pieces' that the band offer a glimpse of that tenderness.

overall its a decent album, but lacks the same depth and longetivity of its predecessors. in all honesty, after repeated listens i found that theres only a handfull of tracks that keep you going back to revisit. its a fairly decent album, but its definately flawed.

 Excellent!

An excellent album, a must for any Delays fan. 'Pieces' by far the best track, I could listen to Greg sing forever and always love it, his voice is addictive!! Good to hear vocals from Aaron on a few of the tracks as well! I really hope this album gets some good airplay, the band really deserve it!

 Best One Yet!!

If you are a true indie/psychadelic fan then this is an album you should buy, if you havent yet heard the first two then you've got to because this is a band with class they have a different flavour than other indie artists on the scene and have their own unique style their tracks are melow yet upbeat and they are as good live as they are on the album!!

 A piece of magic

This album is just superb! Having seen them play most of the tracks live in run up gigs, the album has just brought the magic back!!

The delays are a great band to listen to and I for one hope this album does well for them.

The harmonys are amazing as usual and there is always a feeling of fun in their music which just makes it a plessure to listen to!!

Buy this and you won't regret it!
