Having seen the Lord of the Rings in London in Jan 08, I was thrilled to learn they were releasing a CD of the musical's soundtrack, this CD does not disappoint, with some truly beautiful voices and pieces of music that capture the mood of Middle Earth. Elven and Hobbit cultures are captured beautifully in songs such as "The Cat and The Moon" and "Lothlórien". There is a DVD included in this cast recording, which has better quality sound and a slideshow of show stills that accompany each song, plus a bonus track of an alternate version of Arwen and Aragorns stunning love duet "The Song of Hope (duet)". This cast recording is a must for fans of the show.
Amazing.

I saw this show last week and it blew me away. It was amazing! So true to both the movie and the book at the same time.
Brilliant.

I went to see this last November and am going again this May. I was doubtful that lotr could work as a musical but it is simply amazing. The music is beautiful and I am so glad that the cast recording has finally been released. It is definitely worth buying this and going to see the show - make sure you don't miss it before it closes in London this summer!
