Having seen the Lord of the Rings in London in Jan 08, I was thrilled to learn they were releasing a CD of the musical's soundtrack, this CD does not disappoint, with some truly beautiful voices and pieces of music that capture the mood of Middle Earth. Elven and Hobbit cultures are captured beautifully in songs such as "The Cat and The Moon" and "Lothlórien". There is a DVD included in this cast recording, which has better quality sound and a slideshow of show stills that accompany each song, plus a bonus track of an alternate version of Arwen and Aragorns stunning love duet "The Song of Hope (duet)". This cast recording is a must for fans of the show.

I saw this show last week and it blew me away. It was amazing! So true to both the movie and the book at the same time.

I went to see this last November and am going again this May. I was doubtful that lotr could work as a musical but it is simply amazing. The music is beautiful and I am so glad that the cast recording has finally been released. It is definitely worth buying this and going to see the show - make sure you don't miss it before it closes in London this summer!

i couldn't begin to believe that they could capture the magic of lord of the rings in 3 hours in a musical .......... but they DID! This is amazing! You have to understand that they couldn't fit the whole three books in and that they had to leave out parts. The point is that the muscial is a great acheivement it is amazing! They definitely captured the magic! You really feel apart of the production with the hobbits in the audience at the beginning to the orcs coming out into the audience in the 2nd interval. I would true recomented watching this stunning performance! It is a disgrace that the press didn't see how amazing it is! I am appalled to hear it might be ending! Go and see it NOW!

I saw this production when i was incredibly sceptical of the idea and the whole Lord of The Rings trilogy anyway...but when i saw this production i was blown away by the sheer grandure of every aspect, the size and yet the intimacy, and of course, the incredibly beautiful music, you truly must buy this cd as it has been fantastically recorded and lost none of the magic from the stage, Laura Michelle Kelly is a stunningly talented actress with a true stunner of a voice, as well as Jerome Pradon as Strider and Michael Therriault as Gollum/Smeagol, just stunningly done.

Top 100 Music Reviewer

I went to see this production in the first month it was on at the theatre and I LOVED IT!!! Being a huge Lotr lover, I really wanted the soundtrack to the production (as I hav the ones from the films and adore them) so I asked the woman at the desk and she said it would be september (last year, 2007) when they would be releasing one, but then september came and went,.....and october....and november....u can prob get the picture, lol, and I kinda gave up hope of there ever being one released.....but now, I cant believe there finally is gonna be one!!! SOOO getting this!!!!! I absolutely love the song that Galadriel sings, blew me away! I had tears in my eyes, so powerful!!! and the hobbit song.......there are just so many great ones!!

Obviously I can't review this CD because it has not been released yet, but I have seen the musical in london twice and it was AMAZING. I can't recomend it enough, the singing is superb, the songs range from beautifull cast ballards to romantic duets and even some get up and go numbers such as the cat and the moon. as soon as this CD comes out I will be buying it without a doubt. The two voices that stand out for me have to be Laura Michelle kelly (Galadriel) and Jerome Pradon (Aragorn), but i can't put anybody down, it was all fantastic.
