Bullet At The Disco?

OK, it's a bit more commercial than 'The Poison' (which itself was pretty commercial), but Bullet are still writing some good tunes - lets face it, it's nothing you didn't expect, in fact I'd suggest that the guitar work is even heavier and more intricate than 'The Poison'. But the album will obviously cause dissent within the ranks due to an average review by Metal Hammer. So to unite the dissenters look at it this way...
Bullet still wipe the floor with lostprophets.

This album is really good I think it's miles better than their first one. I felt the first one was a bit 'emo' as they had songs about love and relationships, I'm not saying their first album is absolute rubbish - this 2nd one seem's a bit more "polished off".
The DVD included in this package is great too it's definitely worth getting the one with the DVD included instead of the bog standard version.
I totally agree with the reviewer about the packaging I really dislike it on this, I wish it was a normal jewel case instead. I tend to find if you squeeze the edges of the cardboard where the CD's are housed you can get them in and out of the sleves but they're still tightly packed inside of there and I can't help but wonder if the CD's are getting scratched. I've never come accross an album packaged like this either - I hope this isn't a new trend of packaging music CD's.
Also, if you pop the CD with the music into your computer you can access Opendisc, this is pretty much a new feature as well I've never seen before. Just enter the details required - it doesn't ask for much just name, e-mail address, mobile phone number, DOB, post code. Then you get taken to a website with extra content, there's not much there at the moment just some video's, photo galleries, comics etc. but I assume they'll be adding bonus tracks as well at some point or wallpapers or something.
I'd highly recommend this album, apart from the dodgy packaging it's a must-have for any person who's into the Metal genre.
Edit: I have now received the poster (on Saturday) and it's great, so thanks for that Play.com.
Just one more thing; I'm sick and tired of people clicking "no" on Did you find this review helpful? It seem's people are just clicking on 'No' if they simply do not agree with your reviews, get a life ,|,,

Is It Better Than "The Poison"???

In a word, No. I'm not saying that the album is rubbish because it's not, it is very good, i just don't think it has the rawness of "The Poison". Scream, aim, fire & eye of the storm are the highlights of the album, but there is some awsome riffing towards the end of the album. The dvd is a good insight as to what the band got up to when recording the album plus the making of & video to scream, aim, fire are good.
I too pre-ordered the cd+dvd edition and wondered why they chose to present it in that way! I had to be so careful getting the cd & dvd out incase i ripped the card
I'm sure the pre-order poster is an added bonus, but as i haven't received mine yet (If anyone at Play.com reads this!!!!) i can't comment on it (Although it has been well over 2 weeks since i recieved the album!!!)
Anyway, 4 out of 5 stars is good enough for the Bridge End metallers
Unexpected, but great nonetheless

Scream aim fire is a lot different to 'The poison'. There's no doubting that. Matt Tuck has also changed his vocal style (largely due to the tonsilitus, he's had to to avoid destroying his vocal chords). Talking of which, he's beginning to sound a lot like a certain Mr. Hetfield in some tracks, but thats a good thing.
Initially, I flicked through the songs and thought they all sounded a bit alike. But you will here them, and definately pick out your faves. The album is solid all the way through, with good solos and a satisfying mix of heavy and melodic.
Whilst 'Scream aim fire' is definately a great title track, the real gems of the album can be found in the forms of 'Waking the Demon' and 'Say Goodbye'. Also, for anyone who bought the limited edition has the bonus track 'Ashes of the innocent', which i highly recommend.
From the outset of 'WTD', you can tell that this is a good song. No doubt, awesome riff, great melodic chorus and some fantastic drumwork.
'Say Goodbye' may at first sound and feel like Bullet has gone as soft as strawberry jelly, and after hearing 'Hearts Burst into Fire' (which may i add is an ok song but a bit soppy) you may be sure of. But listen through the song and listen well, because there is an awesome song in here. Some say the screaming at the end is unnecessary, i feel it adds a good sense of emotion to the record.
'Ashes of the Innocent' is one of those track you wonder why it isnt on the album in the first place. Rippingly fast intro and verse, and soulful chorus, plus a great solo to top it off make a great track and its a shame for all those that bought the normal version. Worth the extra £2!
Despite buying this edition, i havent actually watched the DVD so im not gonna comment until I do.
If you liked 'The poison', i cant see any reason why you wouldnt like this.
*** Other Gripes : unfortunaely the packaging was designed by someone who has never seen a CD because he/she has no clue to how big one is! yes as you have probably read, the digipak is terribly designed.
And No, I didnt get the promised poster. Thanks Play 0_o
Great Album (Not happy about delivery)

This is a great album, Nice songs which still have the touch to the poison and also the DVD that comes with it is pretty good =) I give the album 5 stars but i give 1 star for the serive... I pre-ordered this album which was due out Monday 28th, Play.com took the £9.99 from my bank on the Friday 25th, It said it got posted on the Saturday 26th but it didnt turn up til the following Thursday 31st!!! AND it didnt come with the "Free" poster! =@ Iv had no problems with Play.com before as they are usually good with the serive but with this album being 3 days late and no poster, It unhappy about it.
btw! I DO want that poster!!
very good, though not without its "buts"

had this album a week now, been listen to it alot so I have now decided to do a review. when the album kicks off you think "here we go" looks like we have a good " Poison" follow up here, but once you get into the album you realise it aint. Its all there, the musicianship the hooky riffs etc, but i just sounds abit too "polished", it doesnt have the grit and edge of "The Poison" the guitars sound slightly pulled and rounded, most the vocals appear to be doubled up (reminds me of Hetfields vox on Ride the Lightening) so you loose the raw "shout" of their previous release. In saying all that, it is a good album you just feel its been produced to have a bit more Radio appeal while trying keeping the hardcore metal fans happy (very similar to Trivium's Crusade), unfortunately you can't have one without sacrificing the other and you are left wondering what could have been. i didnt get a poster either!!!. the bonus disc was a bit of a let down, the music vid shoot did what it said on the tin, but the Bullet Tv section is just them arsing around at (but not in) the studio. Would have been nice to see them doing some tracking actually recording the album. All in all I am glad i bought the album and i am enjoying it but toward the end of last week i found myself flicking my IPod back to The Poison half way thru this
Great listen, one small problem

The album itself is great, like the other people below me however, I pre-ordered, got it 2 days after release, but you can't blame Play if they didn't get the stock in on time or the post was slow can you? But you can blame Play for telling you that you get a poster and then you don't get a poster, I too am wanting to know why I didn't get my poster.
However, I havn't completely listened to the album, it has a bonus track, which is really good and I am yet to watch the DVD.
AMAZING!! (The album, not the delivery!)

Well worth the wait and a brilliant follow-up to The Poison. I'm pretty annoyed about the CD not turning up until today though (5 DAYS AFTER THE RELEASE DATE) I pre-ordered the album WEEKS before it was released thinking that it would arrive on the Monday it was due out in the shops and also because of the "Exclusive Poster with Pre-Orders" bonus. Not only have I had to wait another 5 days for it to arrive but it turned up WITHOUT the poster. Play.com have been excellent with my previous orders but this is pretty poor. Play.com - What is the point of pre-ordering something?? Getting back to the album, a definite must for all fans, Bullet just keep getting better!!
