Talib Kweli, a man who stands alone at heights of great lyricism. This album is perfectly named as it takes you through a Beautiful Struggle, of truths, beliefs and harsh realities of life, the beautiful struggle.
Kweli's positivity and intelect has always shone through his music, especially when teamed up with Mos Def or Common, but with this particular album his outstanding lyrics mixed with melodic instrumentals that suit his style, flow and stature perfectly.
Keep your eyes and ears on Kweli, he is and always will be a revolution to black music along with Mos Def, and he will always be admired for not following a gangster trend. Kanye West tries to follow suit, but can not do it on the same lyrical level, something he would tell you himself i am sure.
Plain and simple, if you love hip hop and the black heritage, this album is hard hitting with the truths. Something you will see similarly on the follow up album Ear Drum without a doubt.

Fantastic album, one of the best i've ever listened to. If your into hip-hop it's a must buy, if your not, then get it anyway. The lyrics are fantastic, insightful and often very humorous. The beats with the help of some excellent producers really contribute to a really balanced album with some heavier quicker beats on tracks such as 'Back up offa me' and slower more soulful beats on 'We know' and 'I Try'. A great purchase

Forget 50 (I can't say my name right) Cent...this is real hip-hop, Kweli raps the truth and isn't trying to impress anyone with how many times he's been shot, who he's gonna kill, have sex with etc etc....
Plus he doesn't dress like a pimp, nor does he want to be one.

Buy this today and be enlightened by The Beautiful Struggle. Kweli is Hip Hop!
