i can't see anything wrong with Morrisey's best inputs collated into a greatest hits album okay surely to some it seems to be a cash in till and keep his fan base happy till he releases a new album but this alone is worthy of sitting in a fans cd collection as it has just about everything that has made him a well known figure amongst the madchester scene from his time in the band the Smiths upto his solo years.

don't let his personal feelings affect your decision to buy his greatest hits just go out there and do it.
