 What Makes A Man?

Dallas Green is easily the greatest singer - songwriter since Neil Young. The 'best' albums are always ones that have been around for a while and stood the test of time - so I can't say it yet ... but I can say that this album will be as good in 20 years as it is now.

I was attracted to his debut album Sometimes, purely because he was a member of Alexisonfire, and it was such a good album.

Since then, Dallas has really found his sound; and it is such a unique and brilliant one at that. Adding harmonicas and tambourines to his acoustic sound give it a folk feel, and with his songwriting experiences both from his time in Alexisonfire and his debut City & Colour album, he has really established a style that sounds rounded and complete.

Every song on this album is beautiful, and you can tell that Dallas has poured himself into it, my personal favourites being Body In A Box and What Makes A Man.

Every note played by a harmonica, beat on a tambourine, guest vocal or chord on a guitar sounds like it should be there. Nothing is over or under-used and as a result this album is nothing short of perfection.

Get this album if you are a fan of folk music, solo songwriters, heavy metal, rap ... it is so rare to find an album that I genuinely don't think a single person wouldn't like. So go ahead, it really is worth it.

Dallas, the most talented guy out there.

This will the best album to come out all year, i've heard all but a couple of these songs and i can tell you each and every one is so meaningfull powerfull and emotional they will make you wonder why you ever bothered listening to anything else. Dallas Green is and will always be the most talented guy out there, and this album proves it. Just buy it now.

My favourite artist ever. Dallas is good in Alexisonfire, but 100 times better as City & Colour. Great voice, and well thought out folk/acoustic style songs

Best Acoustic Artist of All Time

It is very rare that an album can be deemed 'perfect' in my eyes. Sadly the case nowadays, artists seem to make a few good songs and package them with mediocre ones for a quick turn around and easy money. This is not true of Dallas Green. Green took time and care over this album, ensuring every song reflect a piece of himself, and every lyric, every chord and every note wasn't wasted, and was well spent. Dallas Green has demonstrated with this and all of his albums what music should be, instead of the sadly depraved state of modern chart music today.

This album is one of the best i have ever bought. The lyrics are incredibley well crafted and dallas has a pehnomenal voice. Anyone who likes either dallas green or alexis on fire should buy this album, and fans of colin hay, jack johnson etc will no doubt enjoy as well.
