Beadye Eye return with their latest album and second effort since the divorce of the two Gallagher brothers back in 2009.

It's always going to be hard living under the shadow of Oasis, but Beady Eye have made progress with 'BE' and have started to show that they can offer so much more than we anticipated. 'BE' is the kind of album that really makes you question Liam's decision making skills. Whilst it has its highlights, it's somewhat ambiguous and frustrating.

Tracks like 'Flick of the Finger' and 'Second Bite of the Apple' display the anthemic side of Liam's songwriting, both featuring a fanfair of brass; uplifting and motivational with a pre football match kick-off style quality. Other highlights include 'Shine a Light', a real authentic track with ounces of character, cinematic undertones and guitar and drum work that sounds almost medieval, as well as 'Soon Come Tomorrow', a real glimpse into the softer side of Liam's music, taking cues from 60's psychedelia and The Verve.

Whilst some tracks show an innovative and experimental side to the band, one which shows a lot of potential, the real fall back is the way in which certain tracks repeat old habits. Tracks like 'Don't Brother Me' and 'I'm Just Saying' the Beatles influence shines through a bit too much and shows no prospect of originality, a problem that was apparent in their previous release 'Different Gear, Still Speeding'.

All in all it's heading in the right direction for Beady Eye and with some more of the right influences they may be able to channel their music into the innovative and experimental kind we sometimes hear on 'BE'. Whilst it's not there just yet, it will leave you feeling optimistic and it's definitely worth a listen.
