Well Mike1976 I am also a lover of classic Rock but as a musician I have eclectic tastes which ranges from Wagner to Whitesnake and I love this album. I bought it for my wife for Christmas and we just haven't stopped playing it. Blunt has such a smooth voice and I love his lyrics which although not as complex as someone like Bruce Cockburn are really descriptive. Music to chill out after a long week at work. More please........
One of the albums of the century!

My title says it all. People like Mike1976, who gave this 1 star, and didn't rate James Blunt as a singer are simply deluded. They are more than likely into R&B and Dance and all the "trendy" genres. It's not "cool" to like James Blunt". It's a bit like the position ABBA found themselves in. They were without a doubt one of the best groups ever. No-one would admit to liking them and yet their albums sold like hotcakes.
James Blunt is an incredible singer and amazing musician. I just wish he would hurry up and release a second album.
As it turns out Mike1976 is into rock albums, most likely heavy rock. In which case why is he even bothering listening to this as it's not his type of music?!! What is the point of him slagging James Blunt when he doesn't like catchy pop songs full stop?!
Album Of The decade I think ?

This is without a doubt, one of the worst albums I have ever heard! its such an annoying! silly little album, Blunt has one of the worst voices around and the lyrics are stupid. Blunt is a flash in the pan artist, his fans seem to think he will be around a long time? I don't think so! as for the person who says im an rnb fan??? sorry, I mainly own 100's of great rock albums! back to Bedlam doesn't deserve a place in that collection!!
Its been out 3 years you must have it by now!

As you can see from the review you either love him or you hate him. I am one of his many lovers.
If you dislike the 4 singles from this album i personally think other songs are better but Goodbye my Lover is one of my favourite songs of all time.
It's not 'cool' to like James Blunt??

A previous review states that the reason people don't like James Blunt is because its not 'cool' to like him! This status has arisen, because the nation is unified in their dislike of him. I don't like James Blunt's voice, attitude or flimsy lyrics. The You're Beautiful lyrics, are terrible. The end of the first verse is 'But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.' Fine, but then the next versde..the chorus..says "I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you". What? How on earth can you have a plan, then say you don't know what to do? Gah. Terrible terrible songwriting.
Brilliant singer, brilliant lyrics

James Blunt - someone you love but won't admit to loving.
I think this album is one of the best for a very long time as it not only includes excellent singing from Mr Blunt himself, but also has emotion running through each and every song. This gives the feeling that he means every word he says, which is great to hear, much better than some singers these days who just sing the words but don't really mean them.
Overall, I would say this is a great CD, definatly one worth listening to.

This is a top notch album which appeals to all, Everyone in the western world pretty much knows who james blunt is and the general conception is you either love him or hate him. As you'd probably expect, its hardly the most up tempo album released, so not really suitable for having a rave to but its perfect to listen to say on the bus home or when you just want to chill out. The best four songs on the album have already been released as singles so your probably aware of them (High, you're Beautiful, Wisemen and Goodbye My Lover) though there are still more gems to be had such as Billy and the heart stopping No Bravery. If your reading this then you really should be asking yourself why the hell you dont already own this album...
