When I think of 'supergroups' I naturally cringe and think of over inflated ego's that get together and sell a few records that are crap, based on the reputations of the people involved.

Once in a blue moon though a collective of musical members from various groups emerge and pull together their skills to produce a very worthy outfit and output of songs. The Reindeer Section is one example and now The Accidental have pulled it off too.

There Were Wolves has a shuffling indie-folk sound, inflected with some magical pop moments on tracks like I Can Hear Your Voice and The Killing Floor, along with recent single Knock Knock.

There is a constant air of experiment, but the experiment pays off, most particularly with the song Wolves, a hauntingly-arranged piece which makes solemn poetry of the unlikely inspiration of 'predatory blokes getting drunk and chasing girls.

It rewards you with repeated listens and grows to be a captivating album, lets hope they can happen upon each other again in the near future.
