This album is fantastic. I saw Paul Gilbert play live as a special guest for Joe Satriani on his 2008 tour. I was amazed (Satriani was amazing by the way). After the tour, I ordered this CD. It's fantastic. Cowbell live was one of the best songs I have ever heard live. Amazing, buy, do it now!

At first I hated it. This can be considered 'get out of my yard' 2 and I couldn't help think it had let its predecessor down. At first I thought, where is the fun, where are the melodies, the riffs and , the unthinkable, has Paul even lost his speed? Then I listened to it more and I couldn't stop. I don't know what caused my initial trepidation because this album is fantastic, well suite modale is rubbish, but everything is there. However this isnt a guitar instrumental in the vein of Racer X, its a thinking mans racer X and also its much better than any of the tripe Mr.Big produced (apart from sixties mind, everyone loves that). There are elements of brilliance in every song and Paul definitely hasn't lost it speed or musicality wise. I would say his is as good if not better than GOOMY and is worth a buy. I would also recommend you check out Erotic Cakes by Guthrie Govan if you like this kind of thing, he is a lovely man like Paul and as good a guitarist.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars An Instrumental Masterpiece.

I'll keep this short and sweet. This album is absolutely fantastic. This is a very modern production yet very vintage and honest sounding record - attributes which are harder and harder to find these days. The overall feel and vibe you get from this is very positive, uplifting and upbeat throughout, whilst also being a very hard rocking record with many things to say.

Every song in it's own right is brilliant. Paul's playing, imagination and sounds that he produces are spot on. The album is the perfect length too - songs change pace rapidly without ever sounding forced or rushed. The whole thing is a very natural listen and crosses many genres of music and organically.

I have personally not enjoyed an album this much in quite some time. Very melodic and vocal playing and instrumentation. I am sure anyone who hears it will feel the same at least!

I picked up this CD on a recent trip to Japan and if you like your guitar playing fast/technical/melodic or a combination of all 3 then you'll love this. The opening 2 tracks really show off just how good a player Paul Gilbert is.With a combination of melody & metal this a great addition to any collection. Also try 'Get out of my yard' which just about takes the honours in a comparison of the 2.
