Whilst Amy Winehouse continues to lock the tabloids and charts in her relentless strangle hold, there's is one band who are still making real soul music - Eli "Paperboy" Reed & The True Loves.

Album opener "Stake Your Claim" does exactly that, it stake's the band's claim on the current, heavily populated, music map.

Several tracks stand out, most notably '(Doin The) Boom Boom' which is sure to find its way into clubs up and down the land with what can only be described as dancing beat.
'Take My Love With You' swaggers it's way out of the speakers and almost instantly into your memory, trust me you'll be humming it for days.
'I'm Gonna Getcha Back' bases itself on the saying "don't get mad, get even" and could pose as an instruction video for those seeking to wreck revenge on their cheating other half's.

Great production job, great band and a singer that actually sounds like he may will wail himself deaf. It doesn't come much better than this.
