Their 14th release and a real return to form. Trademark keyboard sound intact, but now they sound like New Order with a dash of Kasabian. Killer base lines and heart felt vocals. Top stuff!

This new Charlatans Album is absolute quality, so many great songs it just keeps growing on me, more and more. Its a new direction for them, but tracks like the "misbegotten" and "bad days" prove its a step in the right direction. Some of Martin Blunts bass lines alone make the album worth having. The last track "this is the end" is a fitting end to what should be, if there was any justice in the music world a chart topping album. The live tracks on the deluxe CD are of a very high quality too, turn it up loud!!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Just listened to it for the first time today. I have been disappointed with the last 2 albums but this proves the boys have still got what it takes. Looking forward to the upcoming gigs. For all true Charlatans fans this is a must buy.

This Charlatan's album is their best in 10years with stunning songs like 'Misbegotten' and 'This Is The End' proving that the band has no equal. Personal favourite is 'Bad Days' which i guarantee once you listen to it will stay with you for a long time. Yes you can download it free from their web-site but with the bonus CD that accompanies this you really would be missing out. Spread the word - Charlies Are Back Big Time!!!!

Just like Blur, Supergrass etc The Charlatans where often overlooked by the media in favour of Oasis despite boasting a number of good songs and albums to their name but coming back together to do "You Cross my path"
would no doubt get them back onto a scene taken over by the pretenders of Brit Pop.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Best album in ten years.

I'd almost given up on the Charlatans, not that I hated their last couple of albums, I actually liked the fact that they tried something a bit different with each one, but they just didn't interest me very much, and there were only about one or two songs on each that I really liked. But as a long-time fan, I've always given their new albums a chance, and now it's finally paid off.
This is easily their best album in a long, long time, probably their best since 97's 'Tellin' Stories', more than ten years ago, and again they've gone for a different angle, one that sounds more than a little like New Order, complete with a Hooky-esque bass, which is probably why I like it so much :-). It's almost a shame they're giving it away free!
