After riding on the success of Standing In The Way Of Control, the Gossip are finally back with this killer album. Its a lot more funkier and electro in places, yet still maintaining that typical punk rock edge. The lyrics are very meaningful, especially on the title track. It seems that Ditto has a lot to say and manages to empower and inspire without offence or apology. I was expecting there to be some filler tracks, which I found with the last album, but can honestly say that there is not one track on Music For Men which immediately makes you skip. This is a great album to put on when getting ready for a night out, when you are sat in your room or when you're driving around - it suits all! I recommend this album highly for any Gossip fans, Ditto lovers or anyone looking for something a little bit deeper then an average punk funk infused band.
A case of difficult second album. This really does not feel like the gossip its lazy rushed out and plain awful i could not even pick out a song from the album that is fit to be relesed as a single.
awful hi pitched noise lazy instrumentals and even worse singing.
I really did believe at first this was another band called the gossip as it has nothing in common with the first album.
This is most likely thebrain child of the lesser members of the band who have pushed beth out of the lime light to test there music "talants" the result, beth should cut them loses better off without them also though it seems that the damage has been done.
music for men? more like music not fit for the human race!!!!
Love this album its catchy its cool! Just as good as standing in the way of control.
I'm new to the Gossip experience, but I am loving the ride. It's rock & roll with a definite disco flavor, very danceable. Great material for indie music lovers who secretly (or not so secretly) love to cut a rug once in a while. Definite must buy!
'Gossip' created a fantastic pop-rock album.7 of the 12 tracks of it, can be released as a single.'Pop goes the world' is out of sight, not to mention the production of the album and of course Beth's fabulous vocals. If you aren't a blinkered, you have to admit it's one of the best of 2009 so far ...
