  • 'The Blue God' is the second album from British vocalist Martina Topley-Bird who first gained exposure through her work with Bristolian trip hop pioneer Tricky. Coming five years after her 2003 debut 'Quixotic' the album, produced by American hip hop legend Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz), sees Topley-Bird take her unique vocal style in a new direction, opting this time for a more pop orientated sound. Very happy with this CD. I remember her from a while back on Jools Holland and I was fascinated by her unique sound. Fresh, energetic and really deligtful.
She also has a unique voice which is refreshing, I really enjoyed this album. I'm so glad I tuned into Jools that night or I might have missed this different, deligful talent.
Highly recommended.

I am loving these new tracks! Just bought "the blue god" after listening a few times to your myspace player selection! Your new material is really lullaby baby blue! Soft and rhythmic, subtly poetic!
You have a new loyal and devoted apreciator of your music. I first heard you with tricky! You are both a growing influence in my own material!
With love and affection to martina and crew!
Ya know i am sure god is very blue right now!

 Good follow up

Very good follow up to her first album and it feels like a grower. At this stage I don't think it's a good as the first, as it appears to suffer from a couple of samey tunes! However, I would really rate this as a very good album - buy it now.
