Feeder return to their roots for 'Silent Cry' a amazingly composed & written collection of 15 tracks. Not a single track is disappointing filled with catchy & brilliant lyrics, great beats with tons of oooooh's & woooo's to boot!
Easily their best album since 'Yesterday Went Too Soon'.
Love 'Guided By A Voice', 'Miss You' & '8:18'.
A top class album!
Got the album 2 days ago and have already listened to it through about 10 times! 13 5* tracks. Feeder have returned to what made them brilliant, a slightly heavier sound than Pushing The Senses and Comfort In Sound, similar to their epic album Echo Park. In my opinion one of the best albums Feeder have given us. Silent Cry has a reasuring similarity of Feeders roots but with a welcome twist, reflecting the slight change in direction of Feeder since the loss of their original drummer. Would recomend to anyone, a definate MUST BUY.
Feeder have produced an album which combines the great lyrics of Comfort Of Sound and the raw heavy riffs of Yesterday Went Too Soon. This has won back their original fans but, has alienated their newer fans from their last two albums which were softer and more mellow. Overall Silent Cry is a very strong rock ablum by Feeder but there is no killer track like Buck Rogers or Just The Way I'm Feeling. Their lyrics are very good and maybe I'm getting old but, I find their riffs to be very mechanical robot like. If their tunes were as good as their lyrics then we would be looking at a 5 star album easy as all the songs are good. My favourite tracks are Itsumo, Silent Cry and Heads Held High. Silent Cry is slowly growing on me more and is worth checking out if you enjoy heavy rock.
Taking elements from Pushing the Senses and evolving them further, Silent Cry brings a heavy sound but still retains the emotional and somber atmosphere of their previous works. Overall the album is more balanced than their last outing and as a album probably better. As for stand alone tracks, Miss You and Itsumo will have you bouncing around the room in your converse and two toned t-shirts. However apart from these two and a few others, the rest may take time to grow on your and personally i feel the album lacks any individual track of with the lastibility of pushing the senses of feeling the moment. That sad this is one of few flaws and though not as good as comfort in sound, there best album to date, i doesn't follow too far behind.
what you can you say about feeder a part from a great band that never was. this ablum is darker with a sad epic sound, it fails to be the pop little feeder we all know and love, fails to deliver any outstanding tracks. sorry to say but a bit of a disapointment
