The great thing about The Hold Steady (apart from their obvious and acknowledged influences such as Springsteen and The Clash) is the fact that both individually and collectively they are easily one of the best outfits around anywhere to-day.
With their latest album Stay Positive, Craig Finn has developed his beaten landscape's even further offering dark corners where the 'Boys and Girls of America' still go to play and sometimes expire.
The real revelation is how Tad Kubler has emerged as a great guitarist and listen no further for one of the best guitar breaks of recent years on Lord I'm Discouraged. Franz,Galen and Bobby equally pull out the stops on a wonderful and irresistible piece of work.
A must for All Music Fans!!!!!

The Hold Steady keep coming up with some of the most Lyrical and Musical albums around. I thought they couldn't top the classics from their previous albums but they have. This band deserve more coverage in the UK!!!!!!!

The hold steady go from strength to strength. After crashing onto the english scene last year with their second album 'boys and girls of america' the follow up album is as good if not better. At Glastonbury they said that they couldn't get a single out in the UK because the record label said they are to american. Well they are but we love them for it.
