This is something out of this world. I tend to be quite sceptical of most indie/rock bands that seem to be pouring out music all the time but this was just fantastic. One of the best albums I have ever heard and a great mixture of different sounds.
A Weekend In The City is NOTHING compared to Silent Alarm. You hear me? Absolutely NOTHING! This album is amazing! I remember that summer so long ago, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys ...Good times... And now, what's the world come to?
U have to own this album, I found it when I was 20 and its the soundtrack of my drinking years, absolutley brilliant.
By far the best track on here is This Modern Love, which builds up to such an amazing drop, and u cant help but move to the sound!
Banquet and Helicopter are also classics on this, which I fear they will never match or even better. Buy it. NOW.
I love this Ablum, another band i stumbled across going to Reading when i was 16. This album is close to perfect. The sound has changed now but im still hooked. Truly amazing and Kele and the boys never seemed to get the recognition they deserve for the mainstream. But thats what makes it even better! They dodged the plastics!
Loved it from the moment I first heard it and still have a lot of time for this classic album. Just listened to the new album by Delphic and was drawn to their Bloc Party similarities. check out the Delphic track, Counterpoint. It is quite similar to So Here We Are from Silent Alarm which to me is the most beautiful track on this album. Buy Silent Alarm. It is a must have !!
