I start off by saying if your going to buy this for your 10 year old daughter, bad idea, but I'm sure your not so I carry on. A brilliant album, very catchy and has a meaning. It's so Refreshing to see somebody who writes from her heart Most of the songs are brilliant with some ok one's, in short no fill in's. This is a brilliant album and a must buy it's one of the best album's of 2009. It's different, orginal and great. A must buy.
I'm really only into three tracks on this album: Him, Everyone's At It & The Fear - as much as I liked on the previous album. The worst track is 'Who'd've Known' - very unoriginal and sounds too much like a certain Take That release. I was really looking forward to this album, and have given it a good few plays but I'm afraid I can't get excited about any of the other 9 tracks.
Her first album was a big success, but just wasn't for me, not my style of music really. But via recommendation from a friend with similar music tastes to me, I decided to give Lily's latest effort a listen. From the very beginning I was presented with a very catchy "Everyone's at it" and this continued for the next few songs through the first two released singles; "The Fear" and "Not Fair". Along with the instantly love-able melodies, the lyrics are a very truthful and personal insight into the life of lily Allen.
The album has received wide critical acclaim and every music fan should at least give it a chance.
(one song does sound a bit too much like "Shine" by Take That though)
I would possibly stretch this to 4.5 stars if it let me
