Comment:LADYHAWKE Ladyhawke (2008 UK 13-track CD album - Ladyhawke is the alter ego of New Zealander Pip Brown. As a music-obsessed child with very musical parents [step-father a drummer mother a singer] she soaked up everything from the 70s & 80s. From Stevie Nicks and Joan Jett to Nirvana and Hole with Van Halen and Deep Purple in between. Her debut album marries serious song crafting with elements of vintage pop electro & rock; and includes the singles Paris Is Burning & Dusk TillDawn plus the Bonus Recording Oh My [only available on the UK version].)

  1. Magic
  2. Manipulating Woman
  3. My Delirium
  4. Better Than Sunday
  5. Another Runaway
  6. Love Don't Live Here
  7. Back Of The Van
  8. Paris Is Burning
  9. Professional Suicide
  10. Dusk Till Dawn
  11. Oh My (Bonus Track)
  12. Crazy World

This will have you dancing round your living room not a bad track on it its 80's electro/indie style really works a worthy addition to your cd collection

Awesomely catchy pop with eyes on the past

After a few listens Ladyhawke will be harping through your head on repeat, supremely catchy 80's infused pop, her synth chorus' are the best of everything that defined the period.

It all feels like more of a celebration of the best bits of 80's pop rock as opposed to a pillaging of its components as its pulled off with charisma and some simple but revealing and personal lyrics from the lead.

A lot of fun.

 Top Band

I was lucky to see this band live on Monday supporting the ting Tings. As the lead almost seemed stage shy made up with vocals and overall great sound. I will be purchasing this album and would go and see them again!!

 Awesome Debut Album!

Top 100 Music Reviewer

As Electro Pop is getting very big with the likes of La Roux and Little Boots, you ask is Ladyhawke as good as them? Well she is, this album is really great, its got a more alternative sound compared to the others, instead of the all out keyboard and synths, LH has a more guitary sound. This album has got loads of great songs like Magic, Love Dont Live Here, Dusk Til Dawn, Back of the Van, Professional Suicide, and of course her most famous two, Paris is Burning and My Delirium. Looking as this is her debut i cant wait for her next album which might be even better.

 Terriffic Album a must buy
