Now I'm not saying this is the greatest 'Best Of' album of all time by a single artist, and I'm certainly not saying it's anywhere near being close, but what I can say is, this is actually a very good collection.
David Soul will always be remembered for that superb cheesy cop show of the 70's, but he also had a fair few hits to his name. And one or two were even big No.1's, when back in the day getting to number one meant selling a shed load of vinyl! So to say his music was secondary would be a slight injustice.
Memorable songs like Silver Lady, Don't Give Up On Us Baby and Going In With My Eyes Open are classics, so part of this CD won't disappoint. However there are a couple that struggle, and the re-works are just alright. I feel a bit generous giving four stars, but this is a pleasant listen which brings back some nice memories when I was little and Radio 2 was on throughout the house.
