I only recently got into this band thanks to the equally excellent album - 'Boxer' since then I have been hooked and I honestly can't think of a better band around at the moment. After seeing them live they played a number of tracks from this album, I immediately rushed out and bought it. It is immense, not a bad tune to be found. For me it is their best album and one of my personal favourites for many a year. Top notch and i would highly recommend it to anyone with a decent taste in music.

This is the album that really turned heads for The National. It's an understated masterpiece that slowly gets into your head. The lyrics are excellent and at times very moving. Upbeats songs such as Lit Up and Mr November complement the slower ones really well. Definitely one of my favourite albums of the last few years. It's a shame that they haven't got the recognition they deserve yet in the UK.

This is pure genius, different and brilliant. Music to chill out and make love too.
