 A real change of character

I have to admit. I hated this band. I hated their contrived, manufactured look. I hated their deathcore 'because it's popular' sound. I still hate the fact that they all play their instruments way better than me and they're a lot younger. But after listening to this record two of the above three points have changed to the postive. Put simply, this album is a great modern metal record. There is a newfound, clear maturity in their sound that brings together influences from galloping european metal to the downtuned breakdowns of the likes of Acacia Strain, all wrapped up in a sprinkling of industrial tinged samples. And it works. I will point out that the Gallows references are pretty misinformed but it can be said that Olly and Frank's vocal styles are similar (but you realise, this is metal and so vocal styles are pretty limited) Granted, this is going to alienate a very large section of their young fanbase 'why u dont do dem beatdowns no more ? mega lolz' but this is a massive gamble that could finally make them relevant to the beard stroking older metal generation. Check it out, you won't be disappointed, and this is from someone that has been listening to metal since before most of their fanbase was born. Despite all of this I still wish they would get their hair cut.

This album is absolutely amazing! The amount of genres they have pieced so beautifully together is a true inspiration to anyone into metal, Oli Sykes ( Lead Vocalist) said it would be different and it truly is, a work of art. I believe a lot more people will respect them for this album as it proves they have more talent than what was displayed in 'Count Your Blessings' which was an amazing album but due to it being heavier the majority of people find it disgusting and get scared of it, where as this is a much friendlier sound whilst still attaining good quality music. So the future is bright for Bring me the Horizon they are dropping breakdowns that most metal heads would die from pleasure just listening to. So buy it it is an amazing album and should be made law for people to buy this!

This album is the best one ever! Bring me the horizon have changed their sound quite alot but is sooo much better. They dont scream as much but do scream quite a bit. Their old album got a bit boring really quick but this one is amazing with new gutiar riffs and drum beats that will blow you away this is such a good album. If you are thinking of buying then do!

A new album, a new sound, amazing outcome. The more you listen to it, the more you appreciate how good it is and how much they have matured as a band since the last album. They are an amazing band and i recommend anyone to buy this album without hesitation.
