I have eagerly awaited the release of Escala's first album after being impressed with them on Britain's Got Talent, I knew even if they didn't win they would surely secure a record deal.
The string quartet are a fresh and funky new wave of classical crossover artists, which instantly evoke memories of our other British/Australian quartet Bond and the lesser known group Wild (from which Chantal and Izzy from Escala used to be a part of).
Escala are supremely talented and I was delighted with the quality of this debut. It seems like they have built on the style and success of Bond and Wild and created their own unique charm and sound.
Their amazing rendition of 'Live and let Die' returns on the album, and their rendition of 'Kasmir' (with Slash) will take your breath away! I actually preferred their version to Bond's!
The album isn't all the same sounding as there are some slower pieces but overall this is an impressive effort which will surely cement the group as a top group in their own right, and I am sure they can go onto be even more successful than Bond. Escala were the true winners of Britain's Got Talent and this album is proof! Don't miss it!

 Brilliant tracklisting

I was looking forward to this after hearing about some of the tracks that were supposed to be on it. It's even better than I expected!

The thing that really stood out for me was actually the choice of songs. There wasn't a song on there that didn't just make me think "Wow, I am so glad they did this song". I think they've got the perfect combination of classical music, pop music and contemporary classical music. There's also a lot of songs that people will recognise, such as the Craig Armstrong pieces, that people may not realise they know but will recognise when they hear them.

I'm not an expert on string instruments but their playing certainly sounds incredibly impressive to me.

In general a very impressive album that I can see myself listening to a lot, and would certainly recommend to anyone.

 Escala have talent

This must be one of the best electronic string quartets I have ever heard. Was sceptical when I first bought the cd that I wouldn`t know any of their music. But I do. All the music on this cd is surely known by everyone. The music to Godzilla (Matthew Broderick) was particularly recognisable also Live and let die, and the beautiful theme music to the movie Platoon.

 Beautiful Album

First of all i have to say what a beautiful album it is and i totally understand that the girls decided not to bring it out back in november as it has really been worth the wait. I have always loved escala ever since the britain's got talent days. And after hearing this album i think i could find myself chilled out all the time, all the tracks are amazing and flawless.

CLASSICAL IS BACK! only this time with STYLE. GREAT ALBUM!

It's about time a unique and highly talented band has come along. Because at the moment, there is a genre in todays music called 'Utterly Useless' and finally the genre Classical the best kind of music is back but only this time with style.

And as for George Samson winning BGT, it just goes to show you that winning Britians Got Talent to stand infront of the queen to perform has no importance what so ever, hence why you don't hear of George Samson anymore. Yes I agree Escala should of one it, but now it really doesn't matter cos Escala have produced a great album, they have signed 1.5 million deal with Simon Cowell, and they could earn up to 5 million each a year, LOVELY JUBBERLY!

Finally one of the very few artist that I can say deserve wealth and success. A must buy album for everyone.
