I found out about Audioslave through music channels (seeing the brilliant Cochise video) and through the fact that they are infact Rage Against the Machine with the brilliant Chris Cornell. I was... astonished. This album is quite simply fantastic combining the heavy rock riffs of Rage with the melodic voice of Cornell, a mixture made in heaven. For me, Audioslve has to be one the most exciting modern bands around (although they're not together anymore) Such songs as Your Time has Come, Man or Animal and The Worm all have a raging yet melodic feel to them reminiscent of the Rage days. There are also elements of classic American rock influences in such songs as Out of Exile, Doesn't Remind Me, The Curse & Drown Me Slowly. And finally, there are also the more Cornell orientated songs which are much more vocal and melodic such as Be Yourself, Dandelion, #1 Zero & the beautiful Heaven's Dead (when you get sad). I would say this is an almost perfect rock album, just great!
