This album has two contrasting cds - one rock and one acoustic- they are both wicked- the rock one is my favourite by far with great tracks such as "best of you" and "DOA"- buy it and you wont be disappointed

I bought this album after Echoes Silence Patience and Grace, as I became interested in the Foos after I heard the Pretender on the radio. I Think this Album is far superior to ESPaG, partly because there are so many great songs and partly because it fills my 2 biggest tick boxes with a band, the ability to make me wanna shout the lyrics out and air guitar to myself in my bedroom, and the ability to help me relax. With 2 CDs, you get your moneys worth, and for anyone who liked the foos latest album but didn't get this one, go buy it now, I think you shan't be dissapointed!

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars Maybe Slightly Over The Hill

Love the foo fighters and have done since their first album came out. This however doesn't do it for me. In my mind The Colour And The Shape was their best and they have gone down hill a little in the last few years, maybe down to Dave's "i'll play in every single band in the world" attitude. Its still a good album with songs like DOA and Resolve 2 of my fav's but its just not as good as one by one or there's nothing left to lose, and doesn't even come near the colour and the shape. Shame really.

Alone, the great tracks on this album could compile a 5 star album, DOA, Best Of You, Cold Day In The Sun, No Way Back, End Over End, Friend Of A Friend, but weaker tracks bring it down slightly, Resolve, The Deepest Blues Are Back and a number of the acoustic tracks.

On a brighter note, the album actually works as a progression, and the weaker songs are better listened to in order, giving this 4 stars, not 3.

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought

I have always liked the Foo Fighters and have purchased three of their albums, including the new one, and after reading the reviews on here, I decided to buy this one aswell. I knew what I was expecting - like everyone said - one cd is loud, one not so loud. The first cd is very good. Classic Foo's with Dave Grohl excellent as always on vocals. Best tracks are 'No Way Back', the single 'Best of You', 'DOA' and 'The Last Song'. After listening to the first cd I decided to turn to the second expecting the same but not as rockier and acoustic. Some of the tracks are like that, but most are not. The second cd is more Dave Grohl's own work with other artists then an actual Foo Fighters cd. 'Miracle' and 'Cold Day In The Sun' are very good tracks but most are a little too slow. If you are a fan of the Foo Fighters slower stuff then definatly buy this album. But if your only into their heavier stuf, downloading the first cd would be easier. But for £5.99, I'd say its worth it anyway!

After a disappointing 4th studio album from the Foos I was looking for their 5th In Your Honor to show me musical wonder yet again and by george it has.
With a hard rock Disc 1 with the likes of Best of you, Free Me, End Over End and Hell being some of the best this showed the old Foos from the colour and shape period.
Then came Disc 2 which was a solo move for Mr.Grohl with help from such artists as Norah Jones. Disc 2 was solely acoustic album which was a beautiful contrast to Disc 2 with the best being Still, Another Round, Friend of a Friend and Cold Day in the Sun (by Taylor Hawkins).
This album has something for everyone, buy it now!

I just bought this from 'Play' and am very impressed with this album. The ingenious contrast of the 2 CD's is nothing short of magical, after all opposites attract.

Anyway I think that should anyone want a CD but is not sure about what sort of genre they want then this is perfect for you. Great buy for anyone interested in the FF.
