Came across this by accident, the kids (early twenties) had a bag of cds, i picked this one out because of the cover and its fabyluuus. Catchty and different, reminds me of judy tzuke.

I first heard Hide and Seek and couldn't stand it. The music of Imogen however is like that at first, but it grows on you and becomes unforgettable.
Her voice is great alone, but she uses alot of electronics in her music and her voice to creat a unique and irresistable sound.
I bought this last year and it still remains one of my favourite albums, each song is memorable and the lyrics are always deep and catchy.
The sheer outstanding quality of this album should alone book itself in everyone's collection, as it is so different you like me will probably dislike at first, but grow to love.
Surely a classic.

Imogen's music is unlike anything I have ever experienced.

Usually, i'm a complete metal-head, but she's enticed me with her soft, sleek, and utterly beautiful voice. She captivates the mind and the heart with her music, and I highly recommend people buy this album. She may only sing, but as a solo artist, I feel she should be better known for her absolutely astounding talents as a singer.

Her music centres around the soft pop genre, with generally synthesised backing music, and little acoustic guitar. She uses piano, and synth equipment to let her music and voice flow right around you, and it's just perfect. Speak For Yourself is an excellent album to simply chill out to. Hard day at school? The office? Stick on Imogen Heap, and let the stress dissipate into nothing.

Highly recommended. Just buy it!
